Kids have been tumbling, vaulting, bouncing, swinging and climbing at Boerne Gymnastics Center for 25 years. Now, mom and dad are encouraged to join them on the mats.
The facility is starting to emphasize the benefits of working out as a unit, says gymnastics center owner Lorna Spellman. “We want this to be a place where families can have fun getting fit together.”
Boerne Gymnastics Center offers the complete package of gymnastics apparatus, including the balance beam, parallel and uneven bars, pommel horse and others. A trampoline and indoor climbing wall are also available to its more than 400 students.
The center offers programs and instruction for all ages and skill levels and its acrobatic gymnastics team thrives in competition on the national level. It also includes a course in circus arts, a subject with which Spellman is intimately familiar. Before opening the center, she was a performer in Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.
Boerne Gymnastics Center, located at 105 Stonegate Road, is open daily from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. and from 9 a.m.-noon on Saturdays.
