New Owner Retains Name and Values of Lester’s Auto Center

When Bob Perkins purchased Lester’s Auto Center from Bill Lester, he left the name intact. He also retained the values on which the nearly 50-year-old Boerne business was built.
“We stand for honesty and integrity and we want to be up front with everybody,” Perkins says. “We’re not perfect, but we strive to do what’s right.”
It was that kind of attitude that allowed Lester to sell his business to Perkins, who had served as his general manager for a year and a half before the transaction. “He wouldn’t have sold me the business if he hadn’t felt comfortable,” Perkins says.
Lester’s Auto Center is a full-service facility, an American Service Excellence-certified repair operation. Chassis work, computerized diagnostics, motor repairs and virtually all other automotive needs can be handled by the 11-person staff.
It also has an extensive selection of tires for cars, trucks, lawn tractors and other vehicles. Upgrading the tire department was one of the few changes Perkins made since acquiring the business.
Lester’s Auto Center is located at 32128 IH 10 W., near Exit 543.
